How Underboss Began
Sometimes the best ideas come from recognizing a problem that shouldn't be so hard to solve.
For founder Gabor Foldes, that realization came through the world of kids' activities — watching independent instructors spend their days teaching, only to spend their evenings recording sessions, calculating charges, sending invoices, and following up on payments. It was a problem shared by countless service professionals and small business owners.
Gabor had spent years building sophisticated financial technology through Modfin. He realized that the same expertise used to manage complex financial transactions could make life much easier for independent professionals and small businesses. What began as a solution for instructors grew into a platform that connects services performed with revenue collected — automating the financial work in between.
